SEND Finance

SEND Finance

The budget allocation is agreed between the school and the Local Authority at the beginning of each financial year. Details on how this money is used to support children and young people with SEND is shown below. This is monitored each term by the Governing Body.

Full details explaining how funding is allocated to schools for special educational needs provision can be found here.

At Dene Community School, the notional SEND budget amounts to £406,986.

This is used to support students with SEND through:

  • Staffing.
  • Literacy interventions such as Lexia Strategies, Accelerated Reader and The Beanstalk Reading Programmes.
  • Numeracy interventions delivered by specialist Progress Leaders for Maths.
  • Supported revision sessions
  • Social skills groups.

If a student has complex special educational needs, we could also receive additional funding from the Local Authority to meet the agreed outcomes.

A Costed Provision Map will be developed in liaison with the student, parent or carer.
